The 30th US Trade Show runs November 5–7 at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka: 63 booths from 43 exhibitors, free entry with online registration

The US Trade Show returns to Dhaka after a two-and-a-half-year gap. At a press conference at Hotel InterContinental on Monday (November 2), the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) announced that the 30th US Trade Show will be held from November 5 to 7. This year's headline goal: attracting $5 billion in US investment over the next five years.

According to the announcement, 43 exhibitors will take part — 36 companies and 7 startups — across 63 booths showcasing their products and services. The show will run from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm each day; organisers expect 10,000 to 15,000 visitors over three days. Entry is free with online registration.

Held regularly since 1992, the show returns in full scale this time. It also forms part of AmCham's 30th anniversary celebrations.

A big target, a cautious pledge

AmCham President Syed Mohammad Kamal told the press conference that the chamber has set a target of attracting an additional $5 billion in US investment over the next five years. But he tempered expectations. In his words: "We are not claiming that the entire $5 billion investment will materialise. However, this trade show will facilitate the achievement of the target."

Around $5 billion in US investment has flowed into Bangladesh over the past 15 years, according to the chamber. AmCham also aims to bring 10 to 12 new US companies into the Bangladeshi market.

Also present at the press conference were US Embassy Commercial Counsellor Paul Frost, AmCham Vice President Ala Uddin, and Treasurer Reza Ur Rahman Mahmud.

Six seminars, dedicated zones

Beyond the exhibition, the three-day programme features six thematic seminars — electricity and energy, healthcare and medical technology, IT and digital economy, women's leadership, SelectUSA, and Bangladesh–US trade relations.

The exhibition floor will have dedicated zones for power and energy, IT and digital economy, banking and financial services, consumer goods, manufacturing and logistics, education, and agribusiness. Reported participants include Caterpillar, Chevron, ExxonMobil, MetLife, Citigroup, Mastercard, Visa, Colgate-Palmolive, PepsiCo, Costco, PPG, UPS, and Cargill.

The United States is one of Bangladesh's largest export markets and investment sources. Trade watchers believe the show's return after a long gap could give economic ties new momentum — but turning the announced target into reality will rest on keeping the investment climate right.
